KICK ICT ACQUIRES C2 SOFTWARE LIMITED

Ninth deal in eight years as Kick plans for 40% revenue growth this year

Kick ICT Group, one of the fastest growing and leading providers of IT services in the UK and led by the executive team of Tom O’Hara, Alan Turnbull, Jeannie Frederick and Andrew McDonald, has acquired C2 Software Limited, an expert Microsoft Dynamics business specialising in Microsoft Power Platform, CRM and market leading membership software.

Founded in 2015, the deal is Kick’s ninth in eight years as the business continues to focus on expanding its service offerings to customers across the UK.

The deal, which is for an undisclosed sum, has resulted in Kick growing and enhancing its Dynamics division. This means more product options, services, and support for both SMEs and large enterprises. By acquiring a specialist in Microsoft Dynamics services, Kick continues its expansion as a leading IT service provider in the UK.

C2 Software Ltd, founded by Finlay Carmichael, has been in business for over 25 years. Based in Dundee, C2 offers Dynamics-related products and services to customers all over the UK.

With the acquisition of C2 Software Limited, Kick will see run rate turnover increase to over £30m, EBITDA in excess of £4m and recurring revenues to £20.5m.

Kick now employs 170 staff and expects numbers to increase further following the next intake of the Kick Academy, an initiative aimed at recruiting and developing school leavers and graduates.

In 2021 the company received an £8.7m investment from BGF, the UK and Ireland’s most active investor, with the aim of encouraging Kick’s strong upward trajectory, achieved through a mixture of organic growth and M&A activity. As well as the investment, Geoff Neville was appointed Chairman following an introduction via the BGF Talent Network, which is the UK’s largest pool of non-executive directors.

Tom O’Hara, CEO of Kick ICT, said: “Over the past year, Kick has seen tremendous growth, successfully integrating our 2021 and 2022 acquisitions. With C2 joining us, our Dynamics team is now stronger than ever and I'm looking forward to collaborating with Finlay, Kirk, and the wider team. We’d also like to extend a warm welcome to our new customers from C2.”

Finlay Carmichael, Director of C2 Software, said: “We are delighted to be joining Tom, Alan, Jeannie, Andy and the team at Kick and are looking forward to delivering innovative Microsoft Dynamics solutions to customers across the Group.”
